Looking for anyone interested in being a Moderator on here. You really only need to help me keep up with the spammers in here as they are getting a little out of control. I have been trying to keep on top of them, but I figured if anyone was willing to help out it would be much appreciated. So anyone listed let me know either post in here or PM me.

Maybe migrating to SMF can mitigate the spam.
I may have to. I am pretty shocked how many spammers this script gets. I purposely avoided phpbb for this reason, knowing in the past atleast, how spammed those scripts get! Is SMF something you've personally used?
I've been banning IPs, names etc and its useless...got to love proxies LOL

Yes, I avoided phpbb for the same reason hehe.. I knew some phpbb based forums that in one day got thousands of new members *lol*
We use SMF in our community forums, with more than 12,000 members and over 100,000 messages and best of all, no spam 
If you need some help with that, just tell me.
I'll try to look into changing then, if myBB can integrate easily it may be worth it. Obviously going to vB would be best but it just not something I can invest in right now I have sadly stretched myself with other sites right now.
I guess best option would be to validate each signup manually. As a part of this process let the user submit url of their phpcow site if owned directly or list of sites if service provider. Not sure if this could be done through adding a field on sign up page.
This could be cumbersome though.
I have thought about going manual approval, but I don't want to lose any possible real members either by doing that. But I may have to deal with the annoyance of that. Sick of seeing all the adult ads and financial ones too LOL!
