I got this error when I was trying to install this script.
Fatal error: Unable to read 2901 bytes in /home/red/public_html/install/index.php on line 0
Can you guys tell me what should I do?
Thank you,
Thanh
Mostly caused by file corruption during upload process or wrong upload mode. All files need binary mode upload. If you are on a dead slow connection then that can cause file corruption many times.

Thank you for your reply.
What do you mean binary mode?
Thank you.
I think it is very easy to install except you need to follow this.
1, Upload original file phpcow.zip to the folder you want to install.
2, Unzip via SSH.
Until here, you have done with binary mod upload issues.
3, Following the steps in the install.txt file and you are fine.
We have another member here that is having trouble installing it. I gave him the response to be sure to use the binary mode transfer too. Hopefully that is the problem. I don't have my install files still, but was able to find my readme file which simply state,
1.upload files in binary mode,
2.chmod one file, then
3.input SQL info
4. delete install folder
Not sure if this is true for the newest versions but I assume it is. Anyone see something I missed ( I realize I over simplified how to install it)
Ok, so this is the newsest install problem for our new member Haktel:
He installed the Zend Optimizer, got that working, but then continued through the install process and recieved these errors:
now I have install the zend but If I open
my
http://newpazar.com/haber/
then come this error:
Warning: main(cowadmin/languages/lang__sitelang.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /mnt/web5/50/31/51661731/htdocs/haber/base.inc.php on line 9
Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'cowadmin/languages/lang__sitelang.php' (include_path='.:/opt/RZphp4pl/lib/php') in /mnt/web5/50/31/51661731/htdocs/haber/base.inc.php on line 9
I'm assuming this is probably the same problem as phpcowfreaks saw with stillo, corrupt files during the upload? I already informed him to be sure he did the binary upload of files which he says he did. Anyone else have any better ideas for him?
I have delete my first upload....
After I have check with my Hoster the Upload mode and I have chnaged to binary mode..
All uploads was in BINARY mode.

I need urgently your help...

Safe mode off: Failed
Soln: You need SafeMode Off on local at least.
This would need cooperation from your host as they need to do this.
Enabled FTP: Failed
Soln: Ask your host to recompile PHP With FTP support.
DB config file: Failed
Soln: Check permissions on commons.php file. Read the install.txt there's a line wrt this. I guess this is more due to permissions issue on commons.php
Here's your install.txt

Check on point #3
In any case you need to address other two issues which are under control with your host.
Additionally please also ensure that your installation is where you would want to run your site. I have seen many users get upset as once license is activated the url cannot be changed. This is just a heads up.
