How can i know if I'm running the latest patch? The last patch i think i saw was back in October or so. Regardless, they still think I'm bashing them and don't talk to me.
Capper
There's an additional table added which holds data for cacheing or something. Additionally, unless there's a change, the source would show timings right at end of page (home/category pages). There had been vast improvements on home and category pages.
Sad to see the deadlock on communications.
I updated Apache as per your instructions (I think I'm at 2.2.8).
I don't see any of what you mentioned, so i have to assume I don't have the patch.
As to communication, I have been very fair/patient/honest in my assesment of PHPCOW, and still recommend it to others, even given the customer support issues.
I truly hop[e that perhaps they see how helpful and pro-phpcow you are in here and have a change n heart towards you Capper. Perhaps they will let bygones be bygones...but sadly theres not much we can do to help you.
Capper yes i see your Apache on 2.2.8. Was it recompiled with mod_deflate? If yes then i would suggest you login to cPanel and switch on the optimize website feature. It would turn in compression and you can watch how your server behaves for a few days wrt loads under traffic.
Kaos: Perhaps few of us could try and see if we can get Capper's communication deadlock with PHPCow resolved. We can give a try with them at least.
I am willing to do anything to help him out!
I would be greatly appreciative of you all doing that.
PHPCowFreaks...I'll work on that Apache setting tonight. I'm taking a crash course in this stuff in hopes of putting together a guide here. for server optimization......I don't see it being done anytime soon....but I am working on it
Just came across this site, purely accidental...but this is what MyWeb will do correct?
http://www.pageflakes.com
Still not totally sure how your monetize this type of site though.
I'm not sure you could monetize that type of site, unless you have a template where you can include banner ads, or use pop up ads, etc.........but I'd still love to have it to create a site I have ideas for.
Hello Everyone...
I'm still waiting on that major upgrade that PHPCow was doing on MYWEB system. I requested a way to add a widget using HTML and they said that they would 'unlock' that feature for me. After my request a month or two ago, that they were working on the major upgrade... I still don't know when this upgrade will be completed. All I want is the HTML feature 'unlocked' so that I could easily add a widget to the system. Anyone know anything about this update project? Anyone else considering MYWEB?
My client is getting antsy and so am I. Anyone using MYWEB?
By the way, Pageflakes and Netvibes are similar to this sw, but they don't offer the ability to control the content available to the user.
