Perhaps with this forum, we can cut down on the basic questions they get everyday, and then they will have more time to help the more serious issues? I could happen.Idea
I agree 1,000,000%....... this forum could be a huge asset for them. I'm already seeing some really great help and ideas tossed around.
Perhaps this forum would make them think faster on having their own forum which again would possibly be for user to user ideas sharing primarily as no serious support is ever really provided by most of script developers as far as I have experienced unless of course there's a problem of "crash" sort of issues. cPanel is a classic example.

Professional support help is always a difficult path to chose as it costs money. Zimbra (a groupware soln) for example charges $300/support instance. OpenCMS is free but professional support costs are again very steep. Interwoven and Documentum cost fortune in licenses and there are many popular news sites which run on interwoven.
phpcow could look at this forum 2 different ways.

On the first hand they could be saying to themselves the forum is interfering with business because what people read on a forum could hinder their decision to buy.

But on the other hand phpcow is getting a free extension of their company in the way of free support.

If I were phpcow or any other script developer I would be very happy that people are taking the initiative to help others without being compensated.

I think once the word gets out that there is a support forum for phpcow they would probably start participating.
I guess not many software vendors would participate on third party forums.
They would prefer to start their own. That's just my personal opinion. I even have my doubts if PHPCow staff would be actively participating even on their own forums besides of course ensuring decorum. Believe me not many companies do. Look at cPanel. They have active forum but very rarely does one find their staff involvement though their bugzilla at one time had more than 1000 bugs. If anyone talks of bugs on their forum moderators tell them post in bugzilla.

Most of Forums are user to user interactions.
Well sadly the reality is I myself along with others have begged cow to start a forum in the past, and they told me atleast that they loved the idea...but it never resulted in anything obviously which made this forum a reality. I think the cow should truly see this forum as it was meant to be; users helping users. This forum is a place were both pre-sales people and script owners can go to get answers and help.

Sadly the net is littered with bad support threads about the cow, this is there opportunity to get rid of their bad image, while also possibly increase sales because if people know there is a forum to go to, I believe they will be more apt to buy the script. I really don't think this forum NEEDS a cow representative on it, I think we have great members already and we continue to expand daily with people sharing ideas and tips about the script. I'm happy with all of you being members and i believe together we will really make a difference with this forum, with or without phpcow involvement.
I agree 100%......PHPCOW has an opportunity to right a lot of wrongs, and vastly improve their negative image.......and it seems that they just don't care....as long as they get their money.
That may be true, but its a non-issue I never started this place to get them in here. I want to go forward with those that are willing to help.
I actually received a telephone call today from a Project Manager with PHPCow. We had an excellent conversation. Check out the new pricing for MyWEB.
