That said, yes PHPCow is a lot easier to deal with than few others like OpenCMS and Drupal if one is looking for a one of it's kind type of looks site. We picked everything from PHPCow's online docs and less than 8 or 9 questions on how to over livehelp.
Very recently one client happily paid US $400.00 just for complete revamp of the home page layout (based on PHPCow), leaving other areas untouched. On the other extreme we had one client asking us to do a cinemawithoutborders.com type of layout for $20/mo (which we refused obviously). Someone asked to clone forbes.com layout for $200 which we again refused. Starting with a clean slate it takes 40 man-hours to do templating (where every bit of html is typed and not copy paste from some tool like FP/DW/Adobe Live etc).
To put it the other way round, Paid Support is nothing but "Opportunity Costs" for people/company which has spent a great deal of time mastering it.
